GENERAL

The X-Files
The official Fox Network website devoted to the show. Includes an episode guide with a synopsis of each episode.

The Jr. Gossamer X-Files Page
Although the title of this site suggests that it is a list of fan fiction enjoyed by the young creator of this site, it is in fact a good deal more. This X-Files Page is the one of the most clever and well-designed X-Files sites I have seen. McMullen, who is only 17 years old, has created a really fun web page. In addition to links to X-Files fan fiction and other sites, she has included a fun little quiz where the reader's reactions to uncomfortable situations -- such as the school bus being ten minutes late -- can indicate which character he or she most resembles.

The site also contains reviews of McMullen's favorite episodes, pictures and basic information about the principle actors in the show, a section about where "the common kid" (or adult) can purchase X-Files merchandise, and much more!

While the site takes a little patience to scroll through, as most of the site is contained on one page, it does load up relatively quickly and is well worth the effort.

The Original X-Files Alphabet Book

Gizzie's Deli

GEOS' X-Files site Global Episode Opinion Survey (GEOS) is a fan-based survey of all episodes of various TV programs, including X-Files. This is a good place to fine a synopsis of each show - including those yet to air in Canada or the U.S.

The X-Files Timeline
A complete timeline of the show. Very impressive. I can't possibly describe how helpful this site is for understanding the show, so I guess you'll have to check it out for yourself! I'd love to know how much time it took to make this site...

WEB-BASED FORUMS (Newsgroups, Chats, Bulletin Boards, etc.)

The Mining Co.'s X-Files Fans Site
This site catalogues some of the best X-Files links in nearly thirty different subject categories, while also providing a forum for intelligent discussion about the show. Feature articles are published every other week, and the site includes chat, bulletin boards, and a free newsletter. [Summary provided by site maintainer.]

THE X-FILES MOVIE

The X-Files Movie
The official Fox Network website for the movie.

The X-Files Underground
While this site does have some content devoted to the X-Files show (including gossip about season 6, links to various newsgroups, and goodies such as a screen saver), a good amount of work on this site is devoted to the X-Files movie. Included are a list of official sites such as those selling X-Files merchandise; sound and video from the movie trailers; and the webmaster's take on scenes which were left out of the final cut.

DANA SCULLY / GILLIAN ANDERSON

Order of the Blessed St. Scully the Enigmatic
The Order of the Blessed St. Scully the Enigmatic (OBSSE) is dedicated to The X-Files and All Things Scully. The Order consists of more than 800 women and men from over 22 different nations who find Scully to be one of their all time favorite role models/heroines/characters. If you have Scullyistic sensibilities, you can join OBSSE too! [Summary provided by site maintainer.]

Gillian Anderson Web Site (GAWS)
GAWS includes daily updates on the Gillian Anderson Information Network (GAIN), over 1400 photos of Gillian, and information on an unofficial fan club with over 4000 members.

Philes Against Scully Torture (PAST)
The manifesto of PAST states that "there has been an overindulgance [sic] [of Scully torture] that must be stopped". Here you can find a history of the many ways Scully has been violated in the show, and read suggestions on how The X-Files would benefit from a little less torture of Scully (and Mulder) and a little more creativity on the parts of the writers.

The scattered grammatical and spelling errors may detract somewhat from the site, but overall I find PAST's homepage to be witty, informative, and fun.

Bomis: The Gillian Anderson Ring
A ring devoted to The X-Files' Gillian Anderson. As of July 14, 1998, this ring had 27 member sites.

ACTOR-MAINTAINED PAGES

Dean Haglund's Home Page
[I have been unable to load up this site lately. The URL I have is: http://www.deanx.com/eaframe.htm
I would appreciate email from anyone with information about this site. Thanks!
- Webmaster, 12/14/1998. ]

Haglund's site includes stories of his life, his comedy touring schedule, and other tidbits. I missed the X-Files Expo (where he made several appearances) this year, but I heard Dean Haglund is a pretty funny guy!

FAN CLUBS

Extreme Possibilities: St. Louis' X-Files Division
This is the electronic version of Unofficial Channels, the newsletter for Extreme Possibilities (EP), which claims to be the only "fully organized" fan club for The X-Files in the St. Louis area. The club holds regular meetings in the St. Louis area, and has already held three all-day seminars about the X-Files. EP has been featured on both local papers and televised newscasts.

(The sites Morbidity and Mortality and Gizzie's Deli are also run by the founder/webmaster of EP.)

Darin Morgan Fan Club

Mark Snow Fan Club
This page takes a while to load up, but is the only page dedicated to Mark Snow (the creator of the music on X-Files) that I could find. Includes a "virtual visit" to the Mark Snow CD signing at Creature Features in Burbank, Ca.

X-FILES GAME

X-Files Game Central
This is an unofficial site for the X-Files CD-Rom from Fox Interactive. It contains a message board where players post notes about the game, as well as helpful hints, spoilers, and a walkthrough. A section called "New and Cool Stuff" has reviews of the game, inside jokes, technical shortcuts, and other interesting tidbits.

I haven't played this game yet (we need to upgrade the computer first) but I know I'll refer back to this site when I'm ready...it's very easy to maneuver, and has lots of helpful stuff about the game.

SILLY

Weasel's Mulderisms: The Original X-Files Humor List
"Mulderisms" and "Scullyisms" galore. (These terms refer to typical phrases and actions of the two main characters.)

The X-Files Inside Jokes List
An effort to list all of the inside jokes and hidden references in each of the X-Files episodes. [Summary provided by site maintainer.]

Morbidity and Mortality (M&M)
Webmaster Donna Bakke actually counts (and provides names of) the dead from each X-Files episode. However, this site is really much more. Included in neat table format are "case summaries", quotes, and pictures from each episode. Currently (as of February 17, 2000), comments are through season 6.

The M&M site does suffer from some broken links and run-on sentences. However, the page is well-organized and to my knowledge the concept is original. I really got a kick out of it.
